• Worked as research assistant of Dr.Sultan A.Ismail, IRRSBB for biodung composting of tannery waste for 6 months.

Inspiration came from two incidents

NCC gave him the tree planting opportunity and he planted 10,000 trees.However public utilities such as the Telephones, Electricity board cut many of his trees planted along street margins during their maintenance work. He therefore abandoned the town and went up the hills to plant his trees. Before that he decided to collect soil samples from the hills so as to determine the type of trees to plant.

While on a soil collection expedition, he saw the vegetation being burned and in the path of the fire was a bird's nest. He believes that the mother bird kept flying to him and to the nest to draw his attention to the nest and to appeal to him to save the nest and the fledglings. Inspite of his efforts he could not save the nest. This incident again greatly perturbed him and he decided to take on environmental work. He joined Exnora after this.
