In each state, RIM activities are coordinated by one Non Governmental
Organization (NGO), the Coordinating NGO.
The coordinating NGOs are all organizations that have a long and stellar
track record in catalyzing development in their respective states. The
coordinating NGOs are strongly committed to the vision of RIM, and their leaders
are actively involved in developing the strategy for realizing this vision. The
coordinating NGO selects other partner NGOs for RIM in that state. The partner
NGOs select villages and volunteers who will work in those villages. The
coordinating NGOs conduct a common training program for all the volunteers in
that state. They provide guidance and support to both the partner NGOs and the
individual volunteers.
For example, In Andhra Pradesh, Bhagavatula Charitable Trust,
which was founded by Dr. Parameswara Rao acts as the coordinating NGO. BCT
has selected 4 NGOs as partner NGOs (Gram Vikas
Samastha, Chaitanya, MSISDS, BEST). A
total of 6 volunteers are now working in 20 villages under the supervision of
these NGOs.
